Software & Systems at GlassBuild

Frontier CADFlow allows users to take advantage of the 3D design and visualization capabilities of Autodesk Inventor along with the Frontier Configurator to accelerate the design and delivery of products while reducing cost. To be featured by Friedman Corp., the software automates the generation of configuration-specific detailed 3D models, drawings, and manufacturing data as well as data and images to meet customer’s requirements. Frontier customers can achieve these benefits using their existing models and configuration rules, with no redundant data to be maintained, the developer notes. During sales order entry and customer quote entry in eQuote, a rendering of the model is displayed as configuration options are selected. The system makes a full view of the 3D model available to the user, simply by double-clicking the rendering, which provides access to all the details of the customized 3D model, including dimensions, sub-components, and material information. When the product is being manufactured, users of Frontier Advanced Manufacturing Execution (AME) have the same capability to access the full view of the 3D model, to better understand the assembly and its attributes.

Bringing WTS Paradigm technology to the Apple iPad, TouchQuote is a mobile selling tool for construction and remodeling sales consultants to use in-home, on job sites, or wherever building products are sold. The tool will assist with the quoting and ordering process to make the in-home visit quicker and easier than ever before, the supplier states. Benefits of the new system include comparison quoting that provides easy upsell capabilities; quicker data gathering to provide a more streamlined, in-home sales process; and a more consistent process for all sales people with the focus remaining on the customer, according to the suppler. For use by retailers, dealers, contractors, builders, lumberyards and manufacturers, the iPad software uses configuration and pricing data customized for a company’s products, generates and collects payment information immediately, and can print out or email an invoice to the homeowner on the spot.

Also being featured in Atlanta was the UX Configurator, said to be the same powerful configurator the industry has come to know with a new bold look and feel. The new user interface was developed based on thousands of hours of end-user research and development, including interviews with hundreds of customers and end users to gather feedback. The configurator provides an intuitive and visually appealing interface that provides a more enjoyable experience when configuring, while increasing customer confidence in the selling process by delivering a more realistic representation of what is being purchased, the supplier states. Users navigate seamlessly through products and options and can see detailed information on products, with real-time pricing updates accurate drawings of what is being quoted.
