Frame & Sash Processing Equipment at GlassBuild

Teaming with Yilmaz, Atech Machine works closely with customers to find the best possible solution to their window and door production requirements processing vinyl, aluminum and wood, the supplier states. Among the machines to be featured at GlassBuild is the Zigma-O2 AP fully-automatic computerized double head miter saw.

Also part of its line of machines suited toward a variety of production needs—ranging from small and medium-sized plants to large manufacturing facilities with high-volume needs—the Crater-02 A is a heavy duty automatic upcut miter saw also being featured by ATech.

The Yilmaz Phoenix-02 DH automatic double-head welder, the Libra-02 M copy router and Tucana-02 AS automatic angular end milling machine will also be showcased in Las Vegas. The company uses the best quality materials and a controlled production process for each machine manufactured, which provides efficient and accurate processing and guaranteed quality, it states.

The Stack roll-forming machine for thermal break profiles was specifically designed to minimize set-up time and increase production efficiencies by utilizing 11 CNC-controlled axes. CNC-controlled functions include the horizontal and vertical movement of the pressure rollers, pitching correction roller and profile support rollers—eliminating manual adjustment found on other systems. To be featured by FomUSA, the machine features an over pressure system associated with a pressure intensifier that can be calibrated at intermediate pressures by means of a pneumatic pressure regulator. To complete the system, a PC with user-friendly interface is supplied as standard equipment for set up and storage of axis position settings, governing the 11 controlled axes, and for archiving daily and historical job details.

The S400 “Quad” stacked vertical four-point sash welder has the ability to weld four sash in one cycle at a maximum size of 72 inches square. It can accept batch files and be networked and uses the same software as the G 400 Series vertical four-point welder offered by Greller & Co. The unit is proudly manufactured in the U.S.A in Cleveland, Ohio, along with a full line of equipment for the vinyl window and door industry, the supplier points out.

Designed for maximum productivity in minimum space, the Stürtz Compact Sash Line can produce up to 900 welded and cleaned sash per shift with one operator in under 1,200 square feet of plant space, according to the supplier. The line consists of two Stürtz SMI-HSM-20/19CDS horizontal four-point sash welders and the SMI-CNC-H-4K-20/20 automated four-head pass through sash corner cleaner.

Also being highlighted by the company is its LinearPro line of cutting and fabrication systems. The LinearPro fabrication saw features a high speed, linear motor driven feed system and can be outfitted for different cut configurations for sash, pocket sill or sloped sill requirements. The feed system eliminates backlash and provides accurate, repeatable tolerances not available in any other fabrication system on the market, the supplier notes. Custom fabrication requirements can be accommodated with fixed tools or with the Stürtz Flying Bridge. Unique maintenance features such as tilting tool carriages and laser tool breakage sensors with software interlocks are available on all machines in this series.

The equipment supplier is highlighting its recently developed models, including the SV 840 corner cleaner, which offers very flexible processing possibilities and extremely short cycle times, it reports. Three-dimensional processing allows cleaning outside the 45° miter, including
trapeze processing and machining of a covered sash rebate belt. The machine’s
set up allows additional tools to be
inserted easily. With the new arrangement of the tool aggregates, blocking of both processing heads is no longer necessary, enabling even the smallest elements to get processed in one step, eliminating the need to turn the frame and shortening cycle times. The inside stop provides high flexibility at the processing of overlap, transom, and cross and frame combinations. Standard equipment of the tool aggregates includes seven or 13 electronically positionable AC-servo axes, four cutting or grooving knives and two disc cutters, with numerous options available to
meet unique requirements.
