One More Vote

THE TALK... | Markets & Trends

The day is finally here: the day all of the campaign calls, ads, posts and mailers stop. From this day into the foreseeable future, we will instead be inundated with election analysis.

The term “election fatigue” has been used almost as much the adjective “unprecedented” in relation to this historic race. But indeed, the two go hand-in-hand. There is so much to discuss and speculate about this year’s election that it will be The Story for a long time.

But the good news is The Story can now take a different tone. The direction of the new conversation is where we take this next. As entrepreneurs, manufacturing powerhouses, business owners and employees, what does it all mean to you and for you? And that’s why, at risk of replacing election with opinion fatigue, I am asking you to weigh in on our Industry Pulse survey.

I don’t mean to make light of the huge decisions the nation’s voters just faced, nor to downplay the implications American business owners now face. My intent is to acknowledge that, even though you may feel this election has been covered from every angle, we still want to talk to you about it.

So, one more time this week, we’re going to ask you to cast your vote. But we’ll give you a break on the weekly poll question so you can concentrate on the Industry Pulse survey. Please take 15 to 20 minutes to tell us about your experiences in 2016 and your projections for 2017. While we do want to know about your reactions to the election, we also want to know about your business in general. And, if you’re feeling too emotional today, the survey is open through Monday, November 28. Access it here.
