Caldwell Mfg.’s newest hybrid balance, the UltraLift Extreme, delivers Class 6 performance in single-pair applications up to 130-pound sash weights after 8000 cycles, the company reports. The QT3 is Caldwell’s most recent addition to its Constant Force Spring product line, and offers the only Class 3 performance in a fixed coil balance solution, the company reports. Also on display at Win-Door will be the Roller Tilt Elite 562, a Constant Force Spring balance design that accommodates headed pivot bars for high structural ratings. The “capped” cam cavity also eliminates accidental sash displacement, according to the exhibitor.
Quanex Building Products will promote the MikronWood Thermal Advantage window system in Toronto. MikronWood Thermal Advantage features the company’s composite frame material for increased thermal performance. Unlike wood windows, this system uses solid-core composite material―made of resins that include PVC and acrylic-based polymers―that delivers superior performance and can be fusion welded at the frame joints, Quanex reports. This unique resin combination also doesn’t absorb moisture, relieving homeowners from damage caused by rot, mold and insects. The system is designed for both the replacement and new construction markets, and features a 4 1/2-inch frame depth that accommodates up to 1 3/8-inch-thick insulating glass, well-suited for triple-glazed units, the exhibitor reports.
Amesbury will showcase hardware and sealing products on the show floor, including its new patented P3000 multi-point lock system. The system incorporates an Americanstyle look with the thumb-turn oriented above the handle; the deadbolt operation is independent of the satellite locking points. Also featured will be the Spiral, Lite-Lift and Super Lift balances. The 3/8-inch heavy duty Spiral can handle up to 52 pounds per pair or up to 104 pounds when used in tandem. The Lite-Lift and Super-Lift Class 5 balances can handle weights up to 130 pounds. The exhibitor will also feature Foam-Tite CladFT, a newly patented compression sliding seal. CladFT compresses easily, provides a lower operation force and low coefficient of friction, and offers improved tear and compression set resistance, according to the exhibitor.
Endura Products Inc. will display its Z-Series articulating cap sill that eliminates drafts, leaks and service calls, according to the exhibitor, creating a perfect seal every time. Other products on display will include the supplier’s multi-point astragal, replaceable deck sill, FrameSaver and Trilennium multi-point lock.
Erdman will display three machines at Win-Door, including the Erdman 400 Series Spacer Applicator: a low-cost insulating glass production system that works with all flexible spacer systems, applying the spacer with true 90-degree corners. Also on display will be the Erdman Fixed Head IG Secondary Sealer featuring a stationary sealant application system that allows operators to easily apply a professional, high quality, consistent secondary seal to insulating glass units, according to Erdman. The Erdman Hand Assist Glazing/ Back Bedding Table, also on display in Toronto, offers a servo control system utilizing Erdman’s fluid metering technologies to provide a consistent diameter bead of sealant to customer product at speeds of up to 30 inches per second.
