SPECIAL FEATURES | Segments

We appreciate your interest in being part of the Wndow & Door 2009 Top 100 Manufacturers rankings.

These rankings highlight the largest North American manufacturers of windows, doors, skylights and other fenestration products serving the residential market, as measured by sales volume (in U.S. dollars).   In putting together this feature, we seek not only to present these companies by sales, but to produce an annual industry snapshot.  We provide general informaton about each company, including product lines, plant locations and markets served, and highlight significant developments at these operations within the past few years.

Because much of our industry consists of privately-held companies that are uncomfortable revealing sales figures, we do our rankings by sales range category.  Companies are listed alphabetically under one of the following categories:

  • Over $1 Billion
  • $500 Million to $1 Billion
  • $300 Million to $500 Million
  • $200 Million to $300 Million
  • $100 Million to $200 Million
  • $75 Million to $100 Million
  • $50 Million to $75 Million
  • $40 Million to $50 Million
  • $30 Million to $40 Million
  • $15 Million to $30 Million*

*Last year, the cut-off for inclusion in the Top 100 was at least $20 million in sales.  The exact cut-off for inclusion in the 2009 Top 100 is not yet determined. Window and/or door manufacturers with estimated 2008 sales of more than $15 million that are not included in the Top 100 will be highlighted in a special “Near the Top” page in the magazine and online on this Web site.

It's important to note that inclusion in these prestigious rankings is based on the information companies provide and/or sales volumes reported by Dun & Bradstreet and other public sources. Although we rely upon information provided by the manufacturers themselves when possible, companies may still be included within our rankings based on outside sources and our own best estimates, noting that the information has not been confirmed.
