Is Your Livin' Easy?

THE TALK...

Summertime... and the livin' is easy...

I can't remember the last time I cooked on my stove since I spend so much time hovering around my grill and my children constantly smell like sunscreen. It's definitely summertime. But I'll admit that our family's summertime doesn't look like it usually does. We need an even heftier babysitting budget than previous years and our annual trek across country to visit the in-laws is indefinitely on hold. Blame it on the economy, or perhaps working long hours as part of a skeleton crew, but our easy livin' is happening close to home this year.

Are you going through with your traditional annual plans this summer or do you find yourself taking things down a notch as well? And I'm interested to know why—are you just tightening your spending or do you find it tougher to break away from work? On the flip side, there are plenty of bargains to be had right now—have you booked a great deal on a vacation or bought a new lawn mower? Send me an email to tell me what kind of easy livin' you're expecting in the coming months.

e-Poll
Compared to previous years, my summer plans are:
Scaled back a bit, given the economy and/or my work situation.
About the same as usual—I don't see a reason to make adjustments.
Actually kicked up a notch with additional activities and/or purchases.
