Montreal-based Atis Group has acquired Allsco Building Products Ltd., a window and door manufacturer based in Moncton, N.B., according to several press reports.  Following up on several additions in Western Canada, the addition of Allsco enables Atis to serve Canada coast-to-coast.

"Allso is a clear leader in Atlantic Canada and will give Atis a presence in new markets, diversify our product lines and offer exciting cross-selling opportunities, such as Allsco's siding and shutters and Atis Group's heated windows and doors and other high performance energy-efficient products," said Robert Doyon, Atis president and CEO, to the Montreal Gazette.

A Window & Door Top 100 manufacturer, Quebec-based Atis employs more than 1,800 with revenues of more than $200 million.  It offers a range of doors and windows under the Allied, Bestway, Laflamme, Melco, Phoenix, Solarcan and Vimat brand names.  Allsco, which entered the Window & Door Top 100 for the first time this year, operates facilities in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

According to an article in the New Brunswick Business Journal, it's "business as usual" for the Moncton company. "One of the largest issues we had was wanting to make sure our employees would continue with the opportunity of employment, job security and even advancement," Gordon Lahanky, Allsco president, told the newspaper. "We are very comfortable that in return Atis is the right pick and the right company for that because of the fact they are growing so aggressively ... They are looking to grow Allsco significantly, in which case our employees will have opportunity for such advancement."
