Thomas Chen, owner, founder and president of New York-based Crystal Window & Door Systems, has established Crystal Pacific Window & Door Systems. Located in Riverside, Calif., the new company is producing vinyl windows and doors for markets in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada.

Crystal Pacific recently acquired certain assets from Malibu Window & Door, a now-defunct vinyl residential window maker headquartered in South El Monte, Calif. Crystal Pacific plans to build upon Chen’s extensive manufacturing experience, as well as the acquired assets to grow and expand.

“I am extremely excited by this new venture,” says Chen. “My plans are to bring to Crystal Pacific the exemplary quality, service, manufacturing expertise and product innovation and value that have made Crystal Windows back East so successful. Crystal Pacific’s customers who were familiar with Malibu Window & Door have already begun to see the changes and improvements that result from the implementation of leading fenestration business practices.”

Announced plans for Crystal Pacific include the upgrade and expansion of product lines and manufacturing facilities. Improvements to sales, administrative and production operations are underway, including the sourcing of high-quality vinyl extrusion material, officials note. It is also anticipated that new management personnel will be brought on board to lead the improvements and expansion.

A Window & Door Top 100 manufacturer with reported annual sales between $50 and $75 million, Crystal Window & Door Systems operates a 215,000-square-foot plant in Flushing, N.Y., as well as production facilities in Chicago and the St. Louis area. The company manufactures a range of vinyl and aluminum window and door products for the New England, Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern markets.
