The fiberglass pultrusion plant of Omniglass Ltd. in Winnipeg, Manitoba, was destroyed by fire early Monday morning.  Laurie Davies, president of the company, has already vowed to build the facility, but says it is too early to offer any timetable.

According to an article in the Winnipeg Free Press, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.  Damage at the 60,000-square-foot plant is estimated at $15 million (CDN).

Omniglass supplies fiberglass window and door compoennts to several manufacturers in the U.S., Canada and beyond.  During the fire, an explosion blew off parts of the roof and wall, according to reports. Several firefighters were injured, but not seriously.  As of Monday morning, the fire was still burning inside the facility, and as of Tuesday morning, Davies reported that he still had not been allowed back into the facility.
