GlassCraft Implements New Finishing System

The new DuraFinish finishing system designed to provide superior protection and durability to the manufacturer's Artisan and Estate Collections of fiberglass doors has been introduced by GlassCraft Door Co.

The process involves coating each fiberglass door with long-lasting, multi-layered and multi-colored stains which are protected by a clear UV finish top-coat saturated with ultraviolet inhibitors, the supplier explains.  The top coat is said to at offer unsurpassed durability through multiple delivery chains and extreme protection from shipping and construction site abuse.

Other benefits, according to the manufacturer. include very-low VOC emissions, a 100 percent recyclable overspray, weather-resistance and superior resistance to scratching, chipping and marring.  The company is offering a five-year warranty on the finish.

The Houston-based company's Artisan Collection recently received a 2012 Crystal Acheivement Award for most innovative door.
