Despite a downturn in the home improvement industry, Gorell Windows & Doors, Indiana, Pa., reports it is experiencing record increases in new business acquisitions as well as business volume from new acquisitions.

In 2009, the amount of window business resulting from new dealers and distributors was 70 percent more than new business acquired in 2008, the vinyl window manufacturer reports. Gorell is already well on its way to doubling its new account business again this year, officials note. The company has signed 50 percent more dealers—resulting in 35 percent more business—this January and February, compared to 2009.

Tyson Schwartz, vice president of sales & marketing, attributes the gains to the company’s stability, its wide range of product and option offerings and also its strong performance in the areas of product energy efficiency and security. “Our company just won an unprecedented seventh Energy Star Partner of the Year award and our fifth Sustained Excellence award from the Department of Energy and EPA. It’s this commitment to energy efficiency—and the dedication of our employees in manufacturing quality products—that has helped us achieve these record gains.”
