Kensington Windows announced that an ownership group led by its local management team has purchased the company back from Serious Energy, which acquired Kensington in 2009. The window manufacturer will resume business as Kensington High Performance Products Inc., emphasizing its core business of vinyl replacement windows for residential customers.

The new ownership group is led by current Plant Manager and VP Chuck Wetmore, who will serve as CEO, and John Barker, who will continue his role as CFO. Wetmore and Barker plan to retain all of the current employees and will add workers as demand grows for Kensington’s products. Plans are to double the total number of employees in the next three to five years as the business expands. The company currently operates a 100,000-square-foot plant in Vandergrift, Pa.

“Many of our employees have been with us for more than 25 years,” Wetmore says.  “We believe our employees have been, and will continue to be, the future of this company.  We’re proud to return to our roots and continue to serve our customers many years into the future.”
