Lauren Plastics LLC, a division of Lauren International Ltd., has acquired Iso-Trude Inc. of Spring Lake, Mich., a plastics extrusion and engineering company. Continued growth into new markets and products was a driving factor in the acquisition, Lauren officials note. Both companies supply a variety of weatherseal products for door and window applications

“The purchase of Iso-Trude allows us to scale operations both at the New Philadelphia [Ohio] location, as well as at the Spring Lake, Mich., site," says Kevin Gray, CEO of Lauren International. "We are excited about the opportunity to provide expanded sales, service and manufacturing capabilities for customers at both locations.”

“Given the challenges of [factory floor] space constraints and demands created by ongoing business growth, the opportunity to join forces with Iso-Trude is a decision that makes good sense,” adds Chuck Laney, president of Lauren Plastics and Lauren Illumination. “Considering [Iso-Trude's] current, high-end extrusion capabilities in combination with our manufacturing systems and value-added processes, customers will experience additional product choices and expanded custom engineered solutions,” he says.

Operations from New Philadelphia, Ohio, will begin merging with those at Spring Lake early in 2014. Craig Janusz, vice president of Iso-Trude, will oversee the management of the company’s Spring Lake facility. Both Lauren Plastics and Iso-Trude are actively engaged in careful planning of the transition to ensure uninterrupted service to customers, company officials say.
