June 23, 2014
Maritech Windows, the Carollton, Texas, manufacturer of vinyl windows and patio doors, filed for voluntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas Dallas Division. According to court documents, filed May 23, the company anticipates there "will be no funds available for distribution to unsecured creditors." Under Chapter 7 bankruptcy, all assets will be liquidated.
A former Top 100 Manufacturer, Maritech Windows employed more than 400 people and supplied windows and doors throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and the surrounding states. Earlier this year, the family-owned company announced plans to move manufacturing to its newly acquired 225,000-square-foot facility during first quarter 2014.
When Window & Door attempted to reach the company for comment, the company's primary phone number had been disconnected.
