Menck USA Inc., operating as Menck Windows, received a $5 million tax-exempt bond from MassDevelopment, a Massachusetts finance and development agency, to buy manufacturing equipment and renovate a 150,000-square-foot building in Chicopee, Mass., according to a report from The Republican. This will be the first U.S.-based Menck location. The company was formed through a partnership between Menck Fenster GmbH and Liesenfeld International, and expects to create 50 jobs over the next five years as a result of the project, according to the report.

Menck had previously supplied custom windows, doors, window walls and facade elements to the United States through a distributor. Now, the company will manufacture its products in Chicopee and sell directly to the North American commercial and residential building markets, according to the report.
