Quanex Building Products Corp. reports that its Mikron Window Systems division has entered into a cooperation agreement with profine GmbH of Germany. Mikron is a leading supplier of window and door profiles to the North American market, while profine–marketing under the KBE, Kömmerling, and Trocal brand names–is one of Europe’s leading extruders.

“This agreement provides a framework to share technologies aimed at driving revenues in global markets, enhancing product offerings, and sharing best practices–which can improve processes, productivity and costs,” says David Wemmer, Mikron president. “Our relationship with profine offers significant mutual opportunities to enhance our respective market positions.”

“Since our initial conversations, we have developed a solid working relationship to identify several areas of mutual interest with the potential to strengthen our global product offering and our operations," says Albrecht Lange, profine managing director. "We look forward to leveraging our combined resources and working with Mikron’s team.”

Headquartered in Kent, Wash., Mikron operates facilities in Washington, Illinois and Kentucky, producing vinyl and composite systems and profiles used by North American window and door producers.
