Paddock Entering North American Market
British hardware manufacturer Paddock Fabrications Ltd. is bringing its line of Lockmaster multipoint door locks to the North American market. The 30-year-old company recently appointed two distributors in Canada, providing representation in all of Canada and the West Coast of the United States.
Paddock is currently working with A K Draft Seal in Burnaby, B.C., and Radisson Industries, St-Lambert-de-Lauzon, Que. The company is also in discussion with additional prospective partners and expects to name additional distributors in the near future.
Started in Walsall, England, as a manufacturer of handles, hooks and simple catches and other hardware, Paddock began producing its multipoint line in 1995. Since that time, the Lockmaster line has become the best-selling multipoint door lock brand in the UK for aluminum, PVC, composite and wood residential doors, the company reports.
Today, Paddock operates a 90,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility equipped with an array of fully-automatic and semi-automatic metal presses, nylon injection-molding machines and a zinc alloy casting plant. All aspects of Paddock’s design, manufacture, testing and quality control are subject to its ISO9001:2000 accredited quality management system, which has helped Paddock establish itself as a dominant manufacturer and supplier of multipoint door locks in the UK, officials state.
With a strategy of expanding into new markets around the world, Paddock has developed a range Lockmaster multipoint door locks specifically targeted to the North American market, as well as a range of trim sets in a variety of colors, with various designs of lever and back plates.
The new North American locks, which are available in both 6 foot 8 inch and 8 foot models, are manufactured with stainless steel faceplates with one-, three- and four-hook options, as well as complimentary inactive models for double door applications. Key features of the system include quick change reversible latch, adjustable striker set option and center hook deadbolt.
