West Shore Window & Door, a dealer located in Mechanicsburg, Pa., is opening a home improvement design center in a local Wal-Mart store.  The company says it is participating in a recently initiated small business pilot program developed by the retailer.

"We feel extremely fortunate to have our own full-time home improvement design center within our local Wal-Mart store," says BJ Werzyn, West Shore president and founder. "We're honored to be one of the few selected for this great opportunity. It's just another way for us to better serve our community."

The new design center, to be located in a Wal-Mart location in Harrisburg, Pa., will allow West Shore to offer its complete line of products, which consists of replacement windows, doors, insulated siding and garage doors to customers "at Wal-Mart's every day low prices," the dealer reports. The center will be staffed by on-site design consultants.

The world's largest retailer recently initiated this pilot program to help support local businesses within communities along the East Coast, according to West Shore. If Wal-Mart finds the program successful, they're likely to expand it across the country.

"Our plan for the future is to continue growing as a company and to perform well in the Harrisburg Wal-Mart store," says Matt Henderson, West Shore marketing manager.  "We'd like to have a home improvement design center in every Wal-Mart store throughout central Pennsylvania; Baltimore; D.C.; and northern Virginia."
