Power Opens Long Island Operation
Power Home Remodeling Group, which says it is now the nation’s fourth largest home remodeling company, has expanded with new operations in Melville, N.Y. With the move into the greater New York metropolitan area, Power has already hired more than 50 employees on Long Island and plans to create at least 100 jobs in 2011 and another 100 to 250 jobs in 2012.
The company hosted an official ribbon-cutting last week at its new offices with the support of local and state elected officials. “We are thrilled to expand our operations and to call Long Island our new home base in New York,” said Jeff Kaliner, Power’s co-founder and CEO. “This expansion will provide more opportunity—both for our current employees and for prospective employees looking for stability, growth and earning potential in the green jobs sector. Our aggressive expansion approach continues to demonstrate our goal of being the leading home improvement company with a special focus on green products and energy efficient, environmentally friendly solutions to help homeowners enhance their home and reduce their energy consumption. With our arrival to Long Island, we will help to further enhance Long Island’s image as a leading and nationally renowned green community in the United States.”
Later this year, Power will also expand into two additional new markets including Boston and Atlanta, and is projected to add another 400 jobs, it reports. One of Window & Door's 2009 Dealers of the Year, Power’s portfolio includes replacement windows, as well as vinyl siding, roofing, entry and garage doors, attic insulation, gutters and guards, and more.
The company, which recently opened new headquarters in Chester, Pa., credits its burgeoning success in a rebounding economy in large part to the administration’s 2010 energy efficiency tax credit for homeowners. In 2010, Power installed energy efficient solutions in more than 14,000 homes and sites, it reports.
