ProVia Door Inc. is adding a new 108,000-square-foot facility adjacent to its headquarters in Sugarcreek, Ohio.  The building, expected to be completed this fall, will house residential entry door manufacturing and distribution.

The door and window manufacturer is also planning to add about 75 jobs over the next several years. With pledges to add new jobs, ProVia received a variety of state and county tax incentives to help fund construction of the new facility.

The company last expanded its faciliies in 2000, when it nearly doubled capacity, reports Joe Klink, director of corporate relations.  Since that time, it has "completely maxed out" on its space, as it has added automated door manufacturing lines and other equipment, he notes.  "There's been a lot of positive things happening here."

The new facility will enable ProVia to streamline its operations considerably, Klink continues. Currently, entry doors produced at the headquarters plant are brought to a second facility in Sugarcreek where the company makes windows and storm doors.  All products are then loaded into the company's fleet of trucks from four loading docks at that second plant.  The new facility will be equipped with 16 loading docks and will also provide more room overall for crossdocking activities.
