Jeld-Wen is recalling 86 of 150 workers laid off at its Rantoul, Ill., facility, according to a local newspaper report. The manufacturer is bringing back the employees, many of whom were laid off in the winter months, to keep up with increasing seasonal demand. In a release, company officials said the plant may require additional workers depending on weekly production demands.

"The beginning of summer typically means greater window demand, and we're glad to have our seasoned employees working with us again," said Colin Shaffner, Jeld-Wen VP.

The paper reports the company started recalling workers in April and has continued to ramp up the roster weekly.
