US LBM Holdings LLC has acquired Shelly Enterprises Inc., a building materials supplier based in Telford, Pa., from third-generation owners Bill and Greg Shelly.  Founded in 1923, Shelly’s operates seven locations serving builders, remodelers and consumers in five counties in the metro Philadelphia area.

Shelly’s, which sells windows and exterior doors from Andersen, Jeld-Wen, MI Windows & Doors, Ply Gem, Simonton and Therma-Tru, among others, expands US LBM’s presence in Pennsylvania.  US LBM operates John H. Myers & Son, which serves Southcentral Pennsylvania with six locations, and Universal Supply, which also serves the Philadelphia market.

“Shelly’s service capabilities, breadth of product offering and leading market position make it a great fit for US LBM as we continue to build momentum in the marketplace through acquisition and new locations," says L.T. Gibson, US LBM president and CEO.  "We are excited to partner with the Shelly’s team and continue their impressive history of growth."

“Through the hard work and dedication of employees over many years, the Shelly family is proud of the contributions made in the
development and ongoing growth of our communities,” says Bill Shelly.

"Our partnership with US LBM allows Shelly’s to enjoy the benefit of additional resources to promote continued growth," adds Greg Shelly.
“Shelly’s will continue to have the local feel and focus that our customers deserve with the resources of a much larger organization.”

With the acquisition, US LBM now consists of eight building material distributors that serve eight states in the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions with more than 50 locations. Owned by private equity firm BlackEagle Partners, US LBM seeks to capitalize on the reputation
of its operating companies and the local customer relationships that each operation is known for in its market, officials state.
