Tart Lumber Co. Inc. is hosting the grand opening of the Tart Design Showroom, its new millwork design center in Sterling, Va. Scheduled for the end of September, the event will highlight the company's partner vendors, including Marvin Window & Doors, Windsor Windows & Doors, Therma-Tru Doors, Clark Hall Doors, Upstate Doors, Baldwin Hardware, Jeld Wen and more.

Many of the window and door displays for the new design center are already constructed.

The design center features 9,000 square feet of custom and special order millwork displays including doors, windows, mouldings, kitchen and bath cabinets, closet systems, architectural hardware and a paint gallery. The displays also include a 40 foot wall of moulding design ideas as well as mantels and custom millwork.

The showroom will be accessible to contractors, designers and homeowners with extended staffed hours for evening appointments Monday through Saturday, as well as card key access on Sundays if needed. “You can see items online, but when it comes to installed millwork and cabinetry you need to have a hands-on experience. That is what we are making possible for all of our customers with our new Tart Design Showroom access system,” states Craig Fritsche, president.

Ribbon cutting is scheduled for Friday, September 28, with assorted vendors, local celebrities, entertainment, raffles and food, which is all part of the two-day celebration.

Tart Lumber has served Northern Virginia and Metropolitan Washington for more than 60 years. Started in Arlington, Va., in 1951, the company opened the Sterling location, where the new showroom, the lumber and hardware store, and the custom millwork shop have been consolidated, in 1973.
