The U.S. Department of Energy has issued a tax credit label designed for manufacturers that would like to promote Energy Star-qualified products that are eligible for the tax credit. The label is optional and cannot be used as a substitute for any label required by Energy Star, DOE officials note.

An electronic version of the new label, as well as rules for use, was sent to Energy Star partners on June 1.
