Energy Star 6.0 Tightens Performance Requirements; AAMA Makes Recommendations

Last year, the Environmental Protection Agency released Energy Star for Windows, Doors, and Skylights Version 6.0, scheduled to take effect January 1, 2014. There are several program elements under review, in addition to tighter U-factors and solar heat gain coefficients. At the American Architectural Manufacturers Association Annual Conference in Tucson last week, AAMA reviewed its draft recommendations for both criteria.
