The American Architectural Manufacturers Association is gearing up for its national fall conference, scheduled for September 20-23 at the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort in Lake Las Vegas, Nevada. Hot topics at the conference will include AAMA’s proposed Green and Sustainability Product Certification Program.

Currently, the proposed program adopts a sliding scale approach for recycled content, recyclability, renewable content, applied finishes and environmental management. AAMA officials have set aside extended time for discussions on the agenda.

Also up for discussion at the conference will be the 2011 edition of the AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440 document. Additionally, task groups and committees will be working in the areas of air infiltration, Building Information Modeling and tornado hazard mitigation.

Offering the keynote address at the meeting is Ira Blumenthal, president of Co-Opportunities, an Atlanta-based consulting company that has counseled clients such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Kroger, McDonald’s, Harrah’s, Delta Airlines, Exxon, Wal-Mart and others in areas related to branding, strategic alliances, business development, change management, and leadership. His talk will offer an approach to embracing as well as capitalizing on change in business.

In addition to business events, the fall conference will feature a golf tournament and other social activities, including a barbeque picnic followed by a movie night, providing attendees with a variety of networking opportunities.

More information about the event, as well as online registration for AAMA members, is available on the AAMA Web site.
