As part of it efforts to support industry education, Edgetech I.G. has announced it is sponsoring an  energy efficiency seminar at GlassBuild America, scheduled for October 1 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The panel-style discussion will bring together a number of experts to explore the new technologies and policies designed to encourage greater efficiencies in the future.

“Given the current state of the technology and the substantial emphasis on energy efficiency policies by the Obama Administration, this panel discussion will be a must-attend event at GlassBuild America,” says David Walker, vice president of association services at the National Glass Association. “We’re very pleased to offer this timely seminar where show attendees can get a first-hand view of the constraints and opportunities posed by the energy efficiency movement, particularly those in the window and door, and commercial, market segments.”

Rich Walker, American Architectural Manufacturers Association president and CEO, has agreed to moderate the panel. Other distinguished panelists include Marg Webb, executive director of the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance; Richard Karney of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Star Program; Brandon Tinianov, chief technology officer, Serious Materials; and and Mike Manteghi, an NFRC board member and director of research and development at Traco.

“The Energy Efficiency Seminar will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of this year’s show,” says Erin Johnson, Edgetech’s director of marketing. “We anticipate a lively discussion that will help us all gain insight, take advantage of available opportunities, and poise ourselves, as an industry, for future growth.”

The seminar is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 1.  At 8:30 a.m. on the same morning, another panel of experts will examine the rapidly evolving solar panel market.  Information on the complete line-up of activities at GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo, is available at www.glassbuildamerica.com.  The event runs Wedneday, September 30 through Friady, October 2.
