GlassBuild America to Host Energy Efficiency Town Hall
Meetings & Events
With many industry questions about government policies and evolving technologies, GlassBuild America organizers have revamped a planned energy efficiency seminar to be an Energy Efficiency Town Hall Forum. Sponsored by Edgetech I.G., the town hall, scheduled for October 1, will feature an expanded panel of experts to answer questions on emerging technologies, as well as code proposals and other policies that will have a significant impact on window and door manufacturers in the future.
“Given the current state of the technology and the substantial emphasis on energy efficiency policies by the Obama Administration, this town hall-style meeting will be a must-attend event at GlassBuild America,” says David Walker, vice president of association services at the National Glass Association. “We’re very pleased to offer this timely seminar discussion of the constraints and opportunities posed by the energy efficiency movement, particularly those in the window and door, and commercial market segments. We’ll examine policies, codes, technology and much more at this high-profile national event”.
Rich Walker, president and CEO of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association will moderate the panel, as well as questions and comments from the audience. Other panelists include: Richard Karney of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Star Program; Brandon Tinianov, chief technology officer, Serious Materials; Ray Garries, external affairs manager, Jeld-Wen Inc.; Helen Sanders of Sage Electrochromics; and Mike Manteghi, director of R&D at Traco Inc.
“The Energy Efficiency Forum will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of this year’s show,” says Erin Johnson, Edgetech’s director of marketing. “We anticipate a lively discussion that will help us all gain insight, take advantage of available opportunities, and poise ourselves, as an industry, for future growth.”
More information on the forum, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on October 1 at GlassBuild America is available from the show Web site.
