The Window & Door Manufacturers Association has added several new speakers to the agenda for its Spring Meeting and Legislative Conference, scheduled for March 18-20 at the Crystal City Marriott in Arlington, Va.

Sen. Angus King, recently sworn in as Maine's first independent senator, will be a featured speaker during the Washington Briefing breakfast one morning.  Former governor of Maine, he will discuss the need for greater bipartisan dialogue and relationship building among legislators.

The event will also feature Tim Costello, president & CEO of Builder Homesite Inc., a consortium of 32 of the nation's largest homebuilders. This year, his organization is launching a new initiative "Start Fresh. Buy New." to promote the advantages of new construction homes. The multi-year, multi-million dollar marketing and advertising campaign is aimed at increasing preference for new construction homes among potential home buyers who are comparing new homes with existing homes.

The conference kicks off with association meetings on Monday, March 18, as well as a special ticketed WDMA Fundraising Luncheon featuring Bill Kristol, editor of the Washington-based political magazine, The Weekly Standard. He is widely recognized as one of the nation's leading political analysts and commentators, and regularly appears on Fox News Sunday and Fox News Channel.

Tuesday events include briefing sessions in the morning devoted to specific issues, with the afternoon devoted to visits to congressional representatives and staffers.

WDMA has also announced that early bird registration has been extended until February 22.  More information is available at the Legislative Conference website.
