New Name for Global Gases
Global Gases America, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dubai-based Global Gases Group FZCO, changed its name to Global Specialty Gases. The company, which is working toward a June 1 startup of a 12,000-square-foot specialty gases fill plant in Bethlehem, Pa., is currently completing final installation of equipment and local permitting.
“We decided to change the company’s name to more clearly communicate the business that we are engaged in to our customers,” says Phil Kornbluth, senior vice president for the Global Gases Group. “In the U.S., we are a specialty gases business–a company staffed with industry experts who have specialized know-how and understand the business and the needs of our customers.”
The Bethlehem facility will be staffed by a team of experienced specialty gases experts, all of whom had lengthy careers at Spectra Gases, an independent specialty gases supplier that was acquired by Linde AG in 2006. “Our commitment is to ensure that our customers get the highest quality products and services to keep their businesses operating at peak performance,” says George Hansen, Global Specialty Gases GM.
Spectra Gases was a supplier of gases to the window industry, and the Bethlehem facility will focus its efforts on producing high purity rare gases and blends for the window and lighting industries, officials note.
