Champion Window reports it has passed a major milestone in its summer-long program "Close the Window on Hunger" campaign—having donated more than 1 million pounds of food since the program launched on June 1.

Champion launched this new program to fill the summertime need for donations to keep the one in four American children who suffer from food insecurity while school meal programs are not available.

"Since Champion's 80 local showrooms are located throughout the country, we decided to have each work with a local food bank for the program," explains Denny Manes, Champion CEO. "Each showroom is currently donating 50 pounds of food per appointment scheduled, and an additional 100 pounds of food for every project order placed by August 31. As of July 18, we've donated more than a million pounds of food nationally and are well on our way to reaching the company's goal to provide a minimum of 2.6 million pounds of food to those in need."
