The RiteScreen Co.'s Elizabethville, Pa., location has received a prestigious Governor’s Award for Safety Excellence for 2009. Selection for the highly competitive award was based on the facility's comprehensive safety programs with plans for continued improvement, teamwork, innovation and strategic development of safety policies, along with comprehensive accident and illness prevention programs and practices, officials report.

“Winners of the Governor’s Award for Safety Excellence are dedicated to high standards in workplace safety and employee wellness,” states Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell. “These companies have implemented safety strategies that reduce on-the-job injuries, increase productivity and sharpen their competitive edge in a global economy. They serve as inspirations for all Pennsylvania workplaces to match their success.”

RiteScreen, a J.T. Walker company, reports it is the largest manufacturer of window screens & patio door screens in the United States, producing more than 30,000 units per day.
