The employees of Sunrise Windows in Temperance, Mich., recently joined together to make a significant donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, “the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists,” according to the organization’s Web site. The effort was held on October 8 as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“I’m very proud of our team,” says Gary Delman, Sunrise president. “They identified a good cause and organized the effort to support it generously. This is, in fact, one of several causes our company comes together to support every year.”

A fundraising drive was developed by several Sunrise employees who organized and energized the whole replacement window manufacturer's workforce. More than two-thirds of employees participated, and even customers joined in making donations as word spread about the event, officials note.
