WDMA Door Standards Out for Ballot
The Window & Door Manufacturers Association's I.S.6A-11, Industry Standard for Architectural Stile and Rail Doors and I.S.1A-11, Industry Standard for Architectural Wood Flush Doors, are now open for ballot for recognition as American National Standards.
WDMA I.S.6A-11 defines the aesthetic grades and performance duty levels for interior architectural wood stile and rail doors. WDMA I.S.1A-11 defines the aesthetic grades and performance duty levels for interior architectural wood flush doors. Both standards are designed to assure that products are tested and can be evaluated on an equal basis.
The WDMA standards were developed by the members of the WDMA National Architectural Door Council, and are an update and replacement for the former standards WDMA I.S.6A-08 and WDMA I.S.1A-04, respectively. The revised standards coordinate their content and are also in-line with the 2009 Architectural Woodwork Standards, officials note.
The ballot deadline for these standards is September 12, 2012. Anyone interested in obtain a copy of either of these standards for ballot can contact WDMA at firstname.lastname@example.org
