Spokane, Wash.-based Cascade Windows has added Randy Buchanan as its new VP of operations.  He brings more than 30 years of window and glass industry experience to the vinyl window manufacturer.

Buchanan spent 30 years at Milgard Manufacturing, where he most recently held the role of director of Northwest operations. His responsibilities included all operational activities for Milgard’s fiberglass and vinyl manufacturing facilities, as well as directing sales efforts in Canada. Three years in a row he was awarded Milgard’s “Plant Manager of the Year” and was handpicked by Gary Milgard to start up a new manufacturing facility in Virginia. Prior to accepting the position at Cascade, Buchanan spent a year as general manager at Tacoma Glass Manufacturing Inc.

“We are thrilled to be adding such a talented and experienced professional to our team,” says Randy Emerson, Cascade CEO. “His knowledge and background will be vital to the growth that Cascade Windows is expecting over the next few years.”

The manufacturer also reports that its windows and doors were recently selected for two homes built by Pahlisch Homes, a 30-year-old Northwest home builder, for the 2013 NW Natural Street of Dreams. The Street of Dreams showcases builders, designers and building suppliers in the Portland, Ore., area.

Built in a neighborhood in West Linn, Ore., the Pahlisch homes featuring Cascade Series windows and doors include the Blackmore, a 6,298-square-foot English-style estate with four bedrooms and five and a half baths, and the Clearhaven, a 4,919-square-foot family home featuring a large kitchen, pool with a waterslide and large outdoor living area.

“It was an honor for us to be involved in this year’s Street of Dreams,” says Jim Ehlers, Cascade's VP of sales and marketing. “Pahlisch Homes is known for building high quality homes, so this was an excellent fit for our products.”
