Denver-based RavenBrick is planning to build a high-speed automated production line for its RavenWindow thermochromic technology. When complete, the line will produce 5 million square feet of the dynamic solar control glazing product annually, the supplier reports.

In response to the sustained downturn in the housing market, Simonton Windows is planning to close its McAlester, Okla., plant by year end. The vinyl window maker reports it will relocate production lines for its impact-resistant vinyl coastal products to the company's West Virginia operating sites.

The board of directors at Fortune Brands Inc. has scheduled the previously-announced spin off its Fortune Brands Home & Security business, which includes Simonton Windows and Therma Tru Doors, for the close of business on October 3, 2011.
