The employees of Sunrise Windows in Temperance, Mich., recently joined together to make a significant donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, “the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists,” according to the organization’s Web site. J. Sussman Inc., a manufacturer of custom windows in Jamaica, N.Y., is installing more than 550 solar panels, spreading across approximately 15,000 square feet, on its roof. The 125-kilowatt project will handle a substantial part of the company's electric needs and is said to be one of the largest solar panel projects in New York.

In an effort to help feed the unemployed, MecalUSA has enacted a program to donate money to the local food pantries.
