The employees at CMI’s manufacturing plant in Towanda, Pa., have recorded more than 15 million work hours without a lost workday accident, company officials report. The last lost-time incident at the plant occurred on July 27, 1997–over 12 years ago.

William S. “Bill” Marvin, who led the growth of Marvin Windows & Doors from a regional lumber company to a leading manufacturer, died August 31, 2009, at his home in Warroad, Minn., surrounded by his family. Most recently serving as honorary chairman of the company, he was 92 years old.

On August 6, Edgetech I.G. hosted more than 1,000 motorcyclists as they began a 40-mile journey from Cambridge to Dennison, Ohio, transporting the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall to its next destination. WTS Paradigm, the supplier of software for window and door dealers and manufacturers, recently helped out on a new home constructed by its local Madison, Wis., Habitat for Humanity chapter. The company paid for the cost of the windows, and many of its employees volunteered for a day to go on-site and install the windows themselves.
