Employees at MI Windows & Doors' plant in Carrollton, Texas, recently held a product drive to benefit the victims of the devastating May 20 tornadoes in Moore, Okla. Organized by Bernadette Reed, administrative assistant, the collection event helped to provide more than 10 families with vital supplies needed to recover from the storm.

WinDoor Inc. recently reached 1,000 days with no lost time from injury at its 320,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Orlando Fl. The company hit the milestone while it was growing. It currently has more than 150 employees, up from about 100 in 2012.

In 1888, William Caldwell and Allen Boucher changed the way double-hung windows are made with the development of the clockspring counterbalance, which replaced the old pulley and weight system used for centuries.
