Fenestration China, the international exhibition for windows and curtain walls held this past November in Beijing, reported continued growth with 16,700 trade visitors in four days up from 15,400 the prior year. This year's event also saw an increase in the number of exhibitors from 235 to 261.

The NürnbergMesse Group, which hosts fensterbau/frontale–the world's largest window and door industry exhibition–every other year in Germany, opened a North America operation in Atlanta earlier this month. Jeld-Wen Inc. laid off 20 percent of the production workforce at its Rantoul, Ill. window plant last Thursday. The company emphasized, however, that the move is a part of a normal annual workforce adjustment reflecting the seasonal dips in new home construction.
