GC3000 Glass-Chek PRO from EDTM

Ph: 419/861-1030

EDTM Inc. will be highlighting its latest improvements to the GC3000 Glass-Chek PRO instrument in Las Vegas. The instrument measures window thickness and checks for the presence of low-emissivity on the glass, and now can identify different types of low-E coatings. The Glass-Chek Pro will indicate if the coating is a hard coat (pyrolytic) or soft coat (sputtered) low-E product. If it is a soft coat, the meter will also measure the number of silver layers used to make up the coating, allowing users to estimate the type of coating being used. This is beneficial for glass companies that use multiple types of low-E coatings for their windows, and sometimes mix up the glass or can’t identify the window in the field, according to EDTM. For window replacement companies, this feature helps to select the proper coating to use in the replacement window, guaranteeing the customer that the replacement window will offer similar energy benefits as the one being replaced.
