The Classic-Craft Canvas Collection of premium, smooth fiberglass doors provides all the beauty and performance of the Classic-Craft line, with a new, smooth, paintable surface that allows homeowners to easily adapt to home interior and exterior finishes, according to the manufacturer. The new Therma-Tru doors feature architecturally correct facets, including wide center panels and rich, market-tested embossment details that rival high-end custom wood doors, as well as heavy-gauge steel doors. Each entry door in the collection features all the sought-after benefits of a premium fiberglass door system, including security, durability and energy efficiency. To suit a wide variety of architectural styles, the Classic-Craft Canvas Collection includes five new 6 foot, 8 inch-door styles: a two-panel square top; two-panel plank soft arch; four-panel arch top; five-panel; and one-panel plank Craftsman.

Vented sidelites now available in the Fiber-Classic and Smooth-Star lines let light and fresh air into the homes without sacrificing energy efficiency. The fastest growing category in hinged patio and entry doors, vented sidelites offer the ventilation consumers want without the inconvenience and obstruction of storm doors or sliding screens. The new sidelites are supplied as part of continuous systems comprised of either one-hinged door and two-hinged sidelites, or two-hinged French doors and two-hinged sidelites. Door stile edges and a wide patio mullion provide additional strength when doors are open. Therma-Tru is the only fiberglass door manufacturer in the market today to offer vented sidelites with decorative glass options, it reports.

The Fiber-Classic Oak Collection door that helped revolutionized the industry more than 25 years ago has now been enhanced to include more aesthetically pleasing designs, the company reports. High-definition embossments and a wider variety of decorative glass options, including designs previously available only in the Smooth-Star product line, are now available.

Inspired by the simple beauty found in nature, the new Avonlea glass design features clear baroque glass with fluid lines in a free-flowing leaf pattern accented with bronze water glass and black nickel caming. In a recent nationwide survey, consumers ranked Avonlea first out of six other glass designs when asked which they’d prefer and which they’d purchase, the company reports. Avonlea glass is designed to complement Modern, New American and Colonial homes and expands Therma-Tru’s decorative glass portfolio with a fresh design at an affordable price point. The new glass is also Energy Star qualified, providing additional energy savings for environmentally conscious consumers. Sizes include full-lite, 3/4-lite, 1/2-lite, oval- and center-arch lite. The new glass design is available in the Fiber-Classic, Smooth-Star, Profiles and Traditions door lines.

New Maple Park glass (formerly Falling Water) features a gentle arch design embedded within a rectangular geometric pattern, adding both a fluid touch and a sense of balance to the entry. Created to add character and brighten up the entry, the style can be used to complement a variety of today’s most popular home styles, including Arts and Crafts bungalow architecture. The glass, designed to add drama to the exterior of the home, while increasing the amount of natural light to the interior, is available in full-lites, half-lites, ¾-lites, twin-lites and center-arch lite for Fiber-Classic, SmoothStar, Profiles and Tradtions entry doors.

Following up on the introduction of deck-mounted skylight with an industry-first installation warranty, Velux is now offering a curb-mounted version of its No Leak skylight. The new unit offers three layers of water proection, as well as advanced LoE3 glass for better energy efficiency, higher visible light transmittance and better daylighting plus improved solar heat gain performance. The No Leak line features pre-finished white frames and sash to eliminate the need for secondary high-cost trips by a painter, pre-mounted brackets for quick installation of sunscreen blinds and a lower roof profile with an updated curved architectural design and neutral gray color.

A low profile, flat glass design Sun Tunnel was also featured at IBS. Crrently in use in Europe, a very similar model will be introduced in the U.S later this year. The new unit is designed where standard acrylic dome tubular skylights might not be the best choice, such as developments with demanding architectural specification requirements. Sun Tunnel skylights may be utilized to bring daylight into any room or area of the home where a view to the outside from above is not needed or where traditional skylights may not be an option. They are particularly popular in areas including hallways, closets, stairways, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.

A new concept in tubular skylight, the Sun Tunnel by Lovegrove features a light-controlling chandelier or globe, which attaches to the diffuser. The add-on product produces a beautiful light reflectance to the room while allowing the user to adjust the light by raising or lowering the chandelier, the company explains. The stylish accessory reduces the need for electrical lighting by reflecting and spreading natural light.
