Do You Have an Installation Checklist?

THE TALK... | Methods & Techniques

May is National Home Remodeling Month, and to mark the occasion, the American Architectural Manufacturers Association is urging homeowners to trust their window and door replacement to professional installers. As we all know, qualified installers not only help homeowners avoid the pitfalls associated with DIY installations, they make the window and door replacement process significantly smoother thanks to their expertise.

To help guarantee a worry-free replacement, Window & Door columnist Jim Snyder recommends preparing a pre-installation checklist (PiC) to go over with homeowners before the job begins. The detailed list can help ensure installers and customers are on the same page when it comes to how the installation will proceed, what homeowners can expect in terms of the end result, etc.

Does your company provide installers with a checklist to review with homeowners prior to beginning a window or door installation? And if so, do you have any additional checklist items to share? That is our question this week, and we’d like to hear from you.
