THE TALK... | Sales & Marketing

With the end of the first quarter of the New Year quickly approaching, many window and door manufacturers and dealers are implementing new marketing strategies, seeking out new industry trends and configuring their expansion rates for 2015. The industry has been on a rise with the help of the improvement in the home market, and 2015 appears to be an innovative and rewarding year for the industry on a whole.

According to a recent study, 60 percent of manufacturers are planning on modernizing and increasing efficiency within 2015. And, 2015 is poised to see the launch of new products and services such as new v6.0 Energy Star products, flare vinyl windows and entry doors, extrusion components, aluminum windows and doors, new machine designs, tempered glass, and composite windows, just to name a few.

Thus, the industry’s focus is not strictly “out with the old, and in with the new.” In addition to the new list of introductory products, there will be accessories and enhancements for existing platforms as well.

But what do all these trends mean for dealers? In order to capitalize on this industry change, window and door dealers, in turn, need to modernize and implement new marketing techniques.

Many dealers see the benefits of marketing techniques such as product giveaways to enhance community-building. Plus, with homeowners looking for higher-end products, dealers turn to top-tier mailing list providers to deliver high impact and affordable lists.

But many are also becoming more involved socially and joining online discussion channels in hopes of increasing their visibility, and using technology to forge connections with customers.

What are you doing differently this year to keep up with the evolving industry? Review the poll results, leave a comment and/or email your thoughts on the subject.
