Do You Have Workplace Security Measures?

THE TALK... | Management

Let me start off by saying I do not intend to have a conversation about gun control legislation. However, it’s pretty difficult to ignore the unfortunate series of events our country has experienced at the hands of misguided gunmen in the last several months—including an incident just yesterday at a Texas college.

What I am interested to know is whether your workplace has security measures in place to mitigate the risk of violent acts. Do you have policies for carrying weapons and other potentially harmful items into the workplace? How do you deal with violations and offenders? Difficult questions—and the type of questions that would have to be addressed very rarely, I certainly hope—but is it a crisis management issue your company team has discussed?
