Crystal Achievement Awards: Frequently Asked Questions

Window & Door's annual Crystal Achievement Awards recognize residential window and door manufacturers and component suppliers for their contributions to the industry.

FAQs
 

Have the categories changed from previous years?
Yes. While some categories are consistent year-to-year, we rotate others to recognize different segments of the industry. I suggest you look to the Innovative Manufacturing Process and Unique Innovation categories to see if the product/company can be a fit. Can I nominate my own company for an award?
Yes.

Can I nominate a product that has previously won a Crystal Achievement Award?
No.

Can I nominate a product that has won a different award, but not a Crystal Achievement Award?
Yes.

Can I nominate a product that I nominated last year that did not win?
Yes, as long as it was introduced between April 2017 and now. We will only consider products introduced in the past 24 months.

Can I nominate the same product in different categories?
No. Please do not submit the same nomination for inclusion in multiple categories. Total number of nominations is limited to two per company.

Can I nominate more than one product?
Yes, but each company may only submit two nominations.

My product is not new, but it is innovative. Can I nominate it?
No. But we welcome you to submit such information for consideration in Window & Door magazine. Email a press release and photo to our senior editor, Laurie Cowin.

What is the judging criteria?
Each category has specific criteria against which judges consider the entries depending on the category. If you want more information, contact Laurie Cowin.

Who are the judges?
Our volunteer judges include esteemed professionals with notable tenure and contribution to the window and door industry.

Can I be a judge?
We are happy to consider you. Those who wish to partake in the judging process should email an inquiry to Laurie Cowin.

My product is a commercial product that is applicable to the residential market. Will it be considered?
As long as the residential applications are clearly outlined in the nomination form, yes.

Will commercial products be considered?
No. Window & Door magazine covers the residential side of the market exclusively.

When will I know if we won?
Winners will be notified in late July. We will not notify applicants that will not be recognized as Crystal Achievement Award honorees.

When will winners be announced?
Winners are announced and profiled in the September issue of Window & Door magazine.
