Milgard Ceases Manufacturing at Washington Facility

October 21, 2008

Milgard Windows & Doors has shut down manufacturing operations at its Marysville, Wash. facility.  The change results in the layoff of 80 employees, starting on Oct. 24. The company will maintain a sales and service presence at the Marysville site.

“As a result of the challenging economic times, including an unprecedented downturn in the U.S. housing market and softening retail activity, Milgard will be transitioning manufacturing operations from the Marysville facility to the Tacoma plant through the remainder of 2008,” company spokeswoman Barbara Motley said in a prepared statement. “These reductions are a result of a change in market conditions and in no way reflects on the quality and dedication of our workforce in Marysville.”
