Mark Fanelli has joined Royal Window & Door Profiles in the newly-created position of vice president and general manager. He comes to Royal from PPG Industries Inc. where he served as director of sales in the Performance Glazing and IG Sealants business.

In that role, he was responsible for $700 million in sales. Fanelli, who has extensive experience in operations management and a record of customer satisfaction, cost reduction, total quality management, and business development, assumed responsibility for the window and door profiles division of Royal Group Inc. on June 1.

In addition to his appointment, Georgia Gulf Corp. announced the hiring of two other new senior managers for its Royal Group building products businesses. Simon Bates joins the company in the newly-created position of vice president and general manager of Royal Building Products and Paul Czachor was named to the newly created position of vice president and general manager of Royal Pipe Systems.

Bates assumed responsibility for the siding and accessories division of Royal Group Inc. on April
28. He comes to Royal Group from CG Consultants, and previously held the position of regional
vice president at Hanson PLC. In that role, he oversaw 14 manufacturing facilities with revenues of
$210 million.

Czachor assumes responsibility for Royal’s North American pipe and fittings business in July. He comes to Royal Group from Schneller LLC where he was vice president of operations. Prior to his role at Schneller, he held various leadership positions with Johns Manville and CertainTeed Corp.

Georgia Gulf also announced that Gary Taylor has assumed additional responsibilities for the general management of the Royal's deck, fence and rail business and reports to Bates. In addition, Michel Boulanger has been promoted and now oversees product development across all divisions, including technology and engineering, for Royal Group.

“I am pleased to welcome Simon Bates, Mark Fanelli, and Paul Czachor to Royal Group," says Mark Orcutt, Georgia Gulf’s executive vice president of building products. "Their expertise in operations management and business development will benefit the company considerably as we deliver on our commitment to grow our building products businesses. Also, the addition of these new roles demonstrates our commitment to our building products businesses and our customers.”
