Ply Gem Adding Trim and Mouldings Line

February 12, 2013

Ply Gem is expanding its line of exterior home products with the addition of cellular PVC trim and mouldings. The introduction adds to the manufacturer's existing line of more than 20 exterior home product categories, including siding, windows, patio doors, stone veneer, fence, rail, rainware, designer accents, and accessories, officials report.

“We have developed the trim and mouldings product category to further align Ply Gem’s value proposition, offering customers a wholistic exterior solution from a single manufacturer through The Designed Exterior,” says Jerry Blais, vice president, marketing, Ply Gem siding group. “This is a significant launch for Ply Gem, providing high-quality, aesthetically appealing products with tremendous design potential.”

A low-maintenance alternative to traditional wood trim, the cellular PVC trim and mouldings are designed to work well with nearly any siding type. The trim is available with a smooth or woodgrain finish, but unlike wood and treated wood, it does not absorb moisture; resists dirt, rotting, cracking and warping; and holds paint better than wood, especially in damp climates and extreme temperatures, the company states.

To assist builders and contractors with creating architectural appeal in residential home exteriors, through a comprehensive design guide, Ply Gem is providing recommendations on how to use trim boards, corners, post wraps and accents found on seven popular home styles: Craftsman, French Country, Prairie, Tuscan, Folk Victorian, Shingle, and Georgian. The new trim and mouldings line complements The Designed Exterior by Ply Gem, the company's home design guides, combining different product styles, colors and textures for a customizable, low maintenance, architectural exterior.
