Gathering employees at each of the 20 offices and facilities worldwide, Quanex Building Products recently celebrated its rebranding efforts, bringing all its business units under the Quanex name.  At its plant in Cambridge, Ohio, at the business unit formerly known as Edgetech, the company reaffirmed its commitment to the community with a celebration attracting more than 300 employees and local community members.

“Quanex is committed to growth and the continued prosperity in the industries we serve and in the cities in which we live and operate,” said David Petratis, Quanex CEO. “By serving our customers with integrity, we’ve invested in products and processes for the future that will help our customers succeed and continue to strengthen our presence in the Cambridge community.”

The event also featured Tim Orr, the mayor of Cambridge, and representatives from the offices of Ohio Governor John Kasich, U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman, and Congressmen Bob Gibbs and Bill Johnson. Also as part of the Cambridge celebration, donations were given to the Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation and local chapters of YMCA and United Way.

In addition to the company’s rebranding initiative, Quanex named its Cambridge location as what will become its central hub for warm-edge spacer system production. This event marked the completion of the facility’s dramatic transformation. The 417,000-square-foot Cambridge facility has undergone a radical renovation and has added 150 additional employees to keep up with customer demand.

“I’d like to thank everyone who turned out to help us celebrate Quanex Building Products and its ongoing commitment to the Cambridge community,” said George Wilson, general manager, insulating glass. “This marks the beginning of a new and exciting era for the company and its local employees. Our facility transformation was no easy task; but, we were able to renovate the entire plant floor for optimal efficiency thanks to our dedicated employees.”
